Record your work with Work log
Work log keeps app names, window titles, and the order of your work on your device. It never uploads to the cloud, and password managers are always excluded. This page explains how it works and how to use it safely.

What Work log is
Section titled “What Work log is”It automatically records app names, window titles, and the order of your work without registering apps one by one.
From each time block you can review captured text, screenshots, on-device OCR results, and AI work summaries.
Recording is available in the macOS and Windows desktop apps, and storage is local.
Scope and privacy
Section titled “Scope and privacy”There is no cloud upload. Records are stored on your device.
Password managers are always excluded. Browsers and Reki note itself are recorded by default.
Sensitive URLs, secure input fields, and common token-like strings are filtered, but redaction is not guaranteed. The saved database is not encrypted.
Recording stays on while Work log is enabled. Stop recording before opening sensitive content.
Recording app text
Section titled “Recording app text”You can optionally record app text as well.
In that case it can include email, DMs, terminal content, and text outside the visible area. Redaction is not guaranteed, so enable it only when you understand the content.
Set apps to exclude
Section titled “Set apps to exclude”You can add apps you do not want recorded. Enter excluded app IDs one per line (up to 200).
You can also skip window titles that contain specific text. Enter one phrase per line.
- Open “Exclusions and storage” in Work log.
- Add apps from “Exclude an app”.
- If needed, add phrases under “Skip window titles containing”.
- Press “Save settings” to apply.
Retention and storage
Section titled “Retention and storage”You can set the retention period in days. 30-minute work summaries remain until you delete them.
Source events, captured text, OCR, and images are removed after their retention period once the summary succeeds.
Shortening retention deletes records older than the new limit when applied. This cannot be undone.
Under “Storage used” you can see the database, images, records kept, and average added.
Find and delete records
Section titled “Find and delete records”Under “Find records” you can search by text, window title, or app name. Choose a range from This day, 7 days ending here, or 30 days ending here.
From the work timeline, press “View captures” to see details for each time block.
With “Delete this block” you can delete the local records for that time block. Recording continues, but the deletion cannot be undone.
Permissions and troubleshooting
Section titled “Permissions and troubleshooting”On macOS, Accessibility permission is required to identify the active app. It is used only while Work log is enabled.
When permission is missing, open System Settings from “Open settings”. Recording resumes automatically once granted.
If storage is unavailable, the disk is full, or saved records cannot be read, nothing is deleted and recording retries automatically.
